If you go counter-clockwise on the loop, you'll see a soft-surface trail on your left that follows the lake. However, the paved trail runs parallel behind the trees, so just keep following the paved path to loop around the lake. After you pass the fishing dock, you'll find a great shelter overlooking the lake which has two picnic tables.
