We were at
Jester Park Nature Center this morning for an event and checked out the natural playscape area before it started.
My boys were disappointed to see no water in this area that they typically splash in.
However, the bison and their babies were close to the playscape this morning which was fun to see.
The theme for today's event was Life in a Log. I highly recommend
Polk County Conservation events. We've attended many and they're always great!
The naturalist leading today's event read the book
Log Hotel.
After listening to the book, the kids flipped logs over to look for bugs and then tallied how many they found.
It was very hot today, so we spent some time in the air conditioned nature center afterwards to cool down.
It was our first time in the nature center and it's a really great space.
