Mason City: East Park

 

East Park in Mason City has a great playground.  It's on the south side of the park, next to the Cannonball 457, which is a 1912 steam locomotive.  We arrived too early to access the train, but my kids still enjoyed seeing it.  It's open May to October on Saturdays and Sundays from 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm.  

The playground area is huge and includes a separate toddler play area, several swings and a zipline.

There's random playground equipment scattered throughout the remainder of the park and some very pretty areas to walk along the creek.
