Chichaqua Bottoms Greenbelt contains woodlands, prairie grasslands and wetlands. You can rent canoes to explore the old oxbows of the original Skunk River channel. For more information on the oxbows, I recommend watching this Iowa PBS video.
The hiking trails total 4.5 miles and are flat, wide trails. We hiked 3 miles today and enjoyed seeing the pony truss bridge and watching birds from inside the bird blind. There are restrooms near the main entrance in a heated building that is open year-round.
