The Ankeny ice rink at Sunrise Park is now open. I wasn't sure if it'd be worth buying ice skates, but with the number of ice skating rinks in the Des Moines metro area I'm glad we bought skates for both kids. At the park, the playground, parking lot and a portable restroom are all located near the ice rink.
