Hamilton County: Briggs Woods County Park

 

It was bitter cold today, but we really enjoyed exploring Briggs Woods County Park in Webster City.  We hiked a 2-mile loop on the Woodland Trail, Waterfall Trail and and Boone River Trail.  

In the winter, I recommend parking near the shelter at the start of the Woodland Trail.  There are restrooms there, which are open in the winter and not marked on the map.

There are three large cabins in the park which overlook Briggs Woods Lake.  The cabins look really nice and we'd love to return for a longer visit and stay in one.  There are also four one-room cabins near the campground.
