The East Village of Des Moines is a great place to walk around with kids. We started with a tour at the
Iowa State Capitol, had lunch at
Zombie Burger, picked up popcorn at
Almost Famous and played at
Whitmer Park. In total, our walk was 1.4 miles.
Zombie Burger is very kid-friendly and everyone liked their food. We checked in on the Yelp waitlist and by the time we walked there from the capitol our table was ready.
My kids love Almost Famous popcorn, with Czech Mix being their favorite. We also picked up Poppin' Down the Bunny Trail today, which they also enjoyed.
Whitmer Park has a unique playground with a view of the capitol dome.
