Union Park in Des Moines has a lot to offer in the summer - a playground with new equipment, a splash pool, a carousel and historic rocket slide. Rides on the Heritage Carousel are just 50 cents. In the summer, it's open from 11 am to 7 pm every day except Monday. The splash pool is open 10 am to 7 pm on weekdays and 12 pm to 6 pm on weekends.
