Tamarack Nature Center in White Bear Lake was the perfect stop on our way up the northwoods of Minnesota. It's halfway between Des Moines and Ely, it's just off I-35 and has many lunch options nearby. The nature play area has places to climb as well as a fun playstream that was very popular during our visit. There's also a garden area to explore.
