Cedar Rapids: Czech Village

After lunch at NewBo City Market, we headed across the bridge to the Czech Village.  I've heard complaints that that area no longer has any authentic Czech stores with the exception of Sykora Bakery, but I thought it was a great area to walk around.

Parking was easy, there are public parking lots just behind the stores and the area is very pedestrian friendly.  We stopped at Sykora Bakery first, which is known for kolaches.  Kids might be hesitant to try Czech bakery treats, but they also serve Chocolate Shoppe ice cream.  Sweet Mercantile was a fun shop to check out.  It's a soda fountain and candy shop, which also sells toys.
