The playground next to Ankeny Kirkendall Library is officially known as The District Playground. The playground has a musical play arch and two sheltered picnic tables.

I recommend going inside the library, even if you're not an Ankeny resident because the play area is excellent and there are used children's books for sale. They're only 25 cents and the selection is typically excellent. The shelves are just to the left of the self-checkout area.
