The playground next to Ankeny Kirkendall Library is officially known as the District Playground. It has a musical play arch and two sheltered picnic tables.

I recommend going inside the library, even if don't have an Ankeny library card because the indoor play area is excellent and there are used children's books for sale. They're only 25 cents and the selection is typically really good. The shelves are just to the left of the self-checkout area as you enter the library.
