DUBUQUE COUNTY: E.B. Lyons Interpretive Center at Mines of Spain

We stopped at Mines of Spain today because Dubuque is halfway between home and Green Bay, Wisconsin where we spent the weekend.  It's a beautiful area, and we're lucky that it's just a few minutes from Highway 151 because it's an easy place to stretch our legs during long drives to Wisconsin.

Today we visited the EB Lyons Center for the first time and then did a short 1/2 mile hike on the Lead Mine Trail, which is a loop trail behind the center.  The displays at the center were very interesting and some were interactive for kids.  We enjoyed our hike and I was wishing we had time to hike more.  We've hiked the Catfish Trail on a prior visit, starting at the Julien Dubuque Monument.
