WISCONSIN: Deland Park in Sheboygan

When traveling on the Lake Michigan side of Wisconsin, I highly recommend stopping at Deland Park in Sheboygan.  The park has a shipwreck, a breakwater landbridge that leads to a lighthouse, a swimming beach and two playgrounds.  Parking is easy and there are restrooms available.

First, we checked out the wreck of the Lottie Cooper. It was discovered during the construction of the marina and she has been re-assembled at the park.

We were shocked to see the beach filled with surfers during our visit.   The swimming area looked great and I'd love to try it during a summer visit.

My boys loved climbing on the big rocks by the water.

The landbridge is a really fun walk out to the lighthouse.  Just be aware that it narrows as you get closer and can be wet and slippery from the waves.

There are two sandy playgrounds near the swimming beach, as well as a playground across the street.
