The official
Iowa DNR First Day Hike at
Ledges State Park was too early for us, so we went in the afternoon and it was a great day for a hike. We parked at the Flood Pole Lot at the bottom of Canyon Drive (which is closed in the winter), then hiked on both sides of Peas Creek for a total of 2.2 miles.
We saw many families with young kids out hiking, which was wonderful to see. The only thing I don't like about hiking at Ledges in the winter is that there are no restrooms available (portable restrooms are removed at the end of November).
