Butterfly Hunt at Ashby Park - Des Moines, Iowa

 

We attended a fun Butterfly Hunt event today hosted by Des Moines Parks & Recreation.  We learned about butterflies, then the kiddos drews butterflies on kites and the event ended with a group hike to find 10 hidden butterflies, which will be at Ashby Park throughout July.

Ashby Park has a great playground with a separate play structure for little kids.  There's also a splash pool + sprayground, but unfortunately they're currently closed for repairs with an estimated re-opening date of July 6th.  Aquatics closure information can be found on City of Des Moines site.
