Fenelon Place Elevator, also known as the Fourth Street Elevator, is a fun stop when you're in Dubuque. You can start at either the top or the bottom. Payment is taken at the top (cash only) and street parking is easy to find. It started as a private cable car and opened to the public in 1884 for 5 cents a ride.
We noticed many riders enjoying ice cream from Sweet Memories at the bottom. We had stopped at Ice Cream U Scream prior to our cable car ride, so we just headed back up the hill after our trip down.
