Des Moines Biergarten at Water Works Park - Des Moines, Iowa

 

We really enjoyed hanging out at the Des Moines Biergarten this afternoon, which is at Water Works Park.  They have cornhole and ladderball available to play, as well as hammocks to relax in.  The Dealt Hand was there today for bingo and they also had board games available to play.  My son was so excited when he won two rounds of bingo.

Through October, they're open Wednesday through Sunday, opening at 3:00 pm on Wednesdays and Thursdays and at 11:00 am on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.  However, be sure to check their Facebook Page before going because events at Lauridsen Amphitheater sometimes affect their hours.

The tree filled biergarten area is wonderful with excellent shade.  There are plenty of tables with so much space between them that we felt like we had our own private area.  We ate lunch there and everyone enjoyed their food and if you're not a beer drinker like me, I recommend the Triple Jam cider.  The natural playscape is just a short walk and a fun area for kids to play when visiting the biergarten.
