Coffee Cats Cafe in West Des Moines is such a great concept. Half cafe / half cat hangout, we really enjoyed our time there today. We bought tickets ahead of time and I'm glad we did because it was surprisingly busy. They allow 8 people in the cat room at one time (6 reserved, 2 walk-ins).
We also enjoyed walking up and down 5th Street, checking out the shops in Historic Valley Junction. We had pizza at The Tavern, bought cards at Heart of Iowa, found many books to buy at Reading in Public, and finished our walk with cookies at Nan's Nummies.
