Mississippi Gateway Regional Park in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota (just north of Minneapolis) has a treetop trail, a nature-based play area, and a Mini Mississippi water play area. Everything is conveniently located near the parking lot, including the Gateway Center, which has restrooms and indoor nature exhibits. I think it's definitely worth a stop when visiting the Twin Cities in the summer.
