Clive Aquatic Center is a great option for swimming in the Des Moines metro and one of the best options I've seen for little kids. If you arrive at 11:30 am when they open, you can swim for 1.5 hours before the first break at 1 pm.
The only thing my kids didn't like is that goggles are not allowed on the slides, unlike other aquatic centers in the area. My kids both wear prescription goggles, so they were disappointed they couldn't wear them on the slides.
