Rook Room Game Cafe - Des Moines, Iowa

 

Rook Room in Des Moines is a great board game cafe.  We've been visiting once a month since they opened and really enjoy playing games as a family there.  Prior to 4 pm on weekends there is no fee to play games.  After 4 pm, the fee is $8 per person.

Today we played Abducktion and Plunder, which I both highly recommended for ages 10+.  My boys enjoyed Plunder so much that we purchased it and played again the next day.

The games at Rook Room are well organized, with one large section dedicated to family games that are easier for kids. They also have a great selection of games for sale to take home with you.

We order drinks and snacks each time we visit and so far, have enjoyed everything we've tried from the menu.  Their drink menu includes non-alcoholic "poptails" which are fun for kids (and adults).
